About the role#
DEKA Research & Development is hiring a Systems Engineer Co-Op for a full-time rotation during the Winter 2027 term. You will work within a group focused on launching a commercial medical device. This role provides exposure to product development, systems architecture, and risk management. Responsibilities will increase as you demonstrate your capabilities.
What you'll do#
- Perform device troubleshooting and root cause investigation.
- Conduct bench testing and participate in brainstorming sessions.
- Assist with systems documentation.
- Support a cross-functional team in clinical trial planning and execution.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate Bioengineering, Biomedical, or Mechanical engineering program.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Previous wet lab experience.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
