About the role#
Pratt & Whitney is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Richardson, Texas. You will contribute to the planning, design, and testing of mechanical and electromechanical systems while working alongside experienced engineers.
What you'll do#
- Apply research to the design, development, and testing of mechanical or electromechanical systems.
- Work with designers to create models for parts, components, and assemblies.
- Execute tests for subsystems and components under technical supervision.
- Analyze test results to ensure they meet design specifications and objectives.
- Coordinate and communicate within a cross-functional team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program for Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- Experience with mechanical hardware documentation or drawing standards.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Secret or Top Secret security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required for this process.
- Familiarity with Solidworks is a plus.
