About the role#
The Mechanical Engineering Intern role focuses on the design and development of flight simulators. This is a project-oriented position where you will support small to medium scale programs, resolve technical issues, and provide support to manufacturing and suppliers. You will work in both an office environment and a manufacturing facility. This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Apply engineering design methods, theories, and techniques to solve technical problems.
- Perform product development activities, including parametric CAD modeling and drawing creation.
- Participate in the installation and final sell-off of training devices.
- Coordinate and review technical and operational deliverables.
- Conduct independent studies, analysis, and interpretations.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing and suppliers.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Knowledge of fundamental Mechanical Engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to solve technical and business issues in a logical fashion.
- Strong detail orientation.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- U.S. citizenship is required due to government contract requirements.
- Eligibility for a DoD Personal Security Clearance.
Location & details#
- Location: Arlington, Texas.
- Modality: On-site.
- Physical requirements include the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, climb stairs, and lift up to 25 lbs.
- The role may require travel within the continental United States and occasional overtime or off-shift work.
