About the role#
As a Data Specialist intern, you will join the Data and AI Platform department to support CAE’s data strategy. You will collaborate with a team of data specialists and engineers to develop tools and infrastructure that enable the creation of new products and services based on data. This is a full-time, paid internship for students pursuing a university degree.
What you'll do#
- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements.
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, including automating manual tasks and optimizing data delivery.
- Build analytics tools that leverage data pipelines to provide actionable insights into operational efficiency and business performance.
- Maintain data separation and security across national boundaries through multiple data centers.
- Participate as an active member of the business transformation team.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a university program in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or Cybersecurity.
- Strong proficiency in both French and English, written and spoken.
- Industry experience with data, coding, and scripting using Python, Java, Scala, SQL, JS, or Bash.
- Experience developing and administering large data systems.
- Proficiency with big data tools such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
- Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including SQL Server and CosmosDb.
- Familiarity with automated data pipeline and workflow management tools, Microsoft cloud services (Azure, Databricks), and stream-processing systems is an asset.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada and meet the requirements of the Canadian Controlled Goods Program.
