About the role#
As an intern in Data Science and Advanced Analytics, you will join a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, analysts, and software engineers. You will work closely with operations units and digital technology teams to build analytics solutions that improve reliability and decision-making. We follow structured development practices, including automated testing, version control, and rigorous documentation to ensure high-quality, reproducible code.
What you'll do#
- Design, deploy, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
- Collect, clean, and transform data from multiple sources to ensure reliability.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends and operational opportunities.
- Translate business needs into technical analytics solutions.
- Communicate insights through data storytelling and presentations for non-technical audiences.
- Support the automation of data workflows and pipelines.
- Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to support forecasting and optimization projects.
- Practice software engineering standards, including automated testing and code reviews.
- Write and maintain technical documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Canadian university in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python, Spark, and SQL.
- Familiarity with Databricks, Power BI, Azure DevOps, Git, and Confluence.
- Understanding of Agile and DevOps methodologies, data governance, and data quality best practices.
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Functional English proficiency to read technical instructions and communicate with international colleagues.
- Eligibility to work in Canada and ability to work on-site.
Location & details#
- Location: Longueuil, Quebec, Canada.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 5 to April 23, 2027).
- Modality: Full-time, on-site, Monday to Friday.
- Note: The successful candidate must undergo a background check and obtain necessary authorizations for handling controlled goods.
