About the role#
The Student Hourly Assistant works with the Center for Instructional Innovation & Technology Services (CIITS) to support daily operations. This is a part-time, on-site role based in Prairie View, Texas. We accept applications on a rolling basis.
What you'll do#
- Maintain lab computers and keep records of maintenance activities.
- Manage supply inventory and place orders.
- Open and close the lab according to scheduled hours.
- Ensure users handle equipment properly.
- Provide technical support to faculty, staff, and students via phone, email, chat, or in person.
- Assist with setting up IT equipment, including printers, webcams, scanners, and computers.
- Help instructional designers with accessibility projects.
- Support the multimedia productions specialist with video recordings and live streamed events.
- Work some evenings and weekends as needed for events.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Prairie View A&M University (at least 6 undergraduate or 9 graduate credit hours).
- Good academic standing with a minimum 2.0 GPA.
- No prior work experience is required.

- Location: Prairie View, Texas.
- Schedule: Part-time, including some evenings and weekends.
- Status: Paid, on-site position.
