About the role#
The R&D department seeks interns to support projects focused on renewable energy and decarbonization. You will work on initiatives involving wind and solar power, energy storage, carbon capture, and sustainability. This role involves both business and social science applications to help the company reach its long-term goals.
What you'll do#
- Maintain an accident-free workplace by following safety protocols.
- Use business and social science principles to support project planning, policy research, and stakeholder analysis.
- Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data.
- Evaluate market, regulatory, and legislative frameworks related to decarbonization.
- Communicate research findings and project results to management.
- Identify and suggest improvements to current methods.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program.
- A declared major in a field such as finance, marketing, economics, political science, or public policy.
- A minimum GPA of 3.00, with 3.50 preferred.
- Availability to work part time during the semester and full time during the summer.

- Locations: Allentown, Pennsylvania; Johnston, Rhode Island; Lexington, Kentucky; and Louisville, Kentucky.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Modality: On-site and hybrid options available.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
- Travel: Summer work is on-site and may require travel to various PPL Corporation locations. All travel expenses are covered.
