About the role#
This position supports the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) program. You will work under the direction of teachers and supervisors to assist with daily classroom activities, behavior management, and student supervision. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Poinciana, Florida.
What you'll do#
- Reinforce lessons for individual students and small groups.
- Prepare instructional materials, art projects, and bulletin boards.
- Handle clerical tasks including grading papers, filing, taking attendance, and collecting forms.
- Supervise students during meal times, field trips, and bus loading.
- Assist with classroom activities and use technology to support instruction.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or GED.
- At least 60 college credit hours, an Associate's degree, or a passing score on the Para Pro exam.
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
- Strong communication skills and a professional approach to working with parents and staff.
- Being bilingual or biliterate is preferred.
- Majors in fields such as Psychology, Sociology, Nursing, Public Health, Human Resources, Criminal Justice, Communications, or Art are welcome.

- Physical requirements include sitting for most of the day, with occasional standing and walking. You must be able to lift or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds, and up to 40 pounds with assistance.
