About the role#
This position supports the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) program. You will work under the supervision of teachers to assist with student instruction, behavior management, and classroom support throughout the school day. This is a full-time, paid role with a rolling start date.
What you'll do#
- Help carry out the ESE instructional program for students.
- Reinforce lessons for individuals and small groups.
- Prepare instructional materials, art projects, and bulletin boards.
- Provide clerical support, including grading papers, filing, and updating student folders.
- Supervise students during meals, special programs, field trips, and bus transitions.
- Use technology to assist with assigned tasks and enhance instruction.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or GED.
- At least 60 college credit hours, an Associate's degree or higher, or a passing score on the Para Pro exam.
- The ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
- A professional approach when working with students, parents, and school staff.
- Being bilingual or biliterate is preferred.
- Majors in Psychology, Communications, Human Resources, Nursing, or Public Health are relevant to this work.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Haines City, Florida.
- Work is performed on-site in an indoor, climate-controlled environment.
- The position requires the ability to sit for most of the day, with some standing and walking.
- You must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 20 pounds frequently, and 40 pounds or more occasionally with assistance.
