About the role#
POLITICO is hiring an Audio/Video Intern for the Spring 2027 term. This full-time, paid position offers hands-on experience in editorial production, content distribution, and multimedia storytelling. You will work alongside producers and editors to support daily operations and gain insight into how a newsroom creates and distributes journalism across various platforms.
What you'll do#
- Support daily audio and video production workflows.
- Conduct research on topics, individuals, and current events to assist the editorial process.
- Source archival footage, soundbites, and other relevant assets.
- Assist with clipping interviews and live events.
- Help with recording sessions, live transcripts, and real-time production support.
- Maintain organized production files, metadata, and documentation.
- Manage content uploads across CMS, YouTube, podcast channels, and social platforms.
- Collect and track performance metrics.
What you'll need#
- Current college student or recent graduate status.
- Strong interest in journalism, Washington, politics, and policy.
- Demonstrated interest in multimedia production, editing, podcasting, or platform innovation.
- Excellent news judgment and an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently under deadlines.
- Familiarity with editing software, production tools, or social publishing platforms is a plus.
- Proven experience in a newsroom is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Arlington, Virginia (HQ).
- Modality: Hybrid, full-time (40 hours per week).
- Term: January through May 2027.
- Compensation: $23 per hour.
