Drexel Co-Op - Gas Meter Shop - Fall/Winter 2026

About the role#

This co-op position supports the Field Operations Department at Philadelphia Gas Works. You will work within the Planning, Engineering, and Construction Section to assist with daily departmental operations, safety documentation, and project support.

What you'll do#

• Assist the Planning, Engineering, and Construction Section with reporting and tracking methods for departmental programs.
• Support project design efforts.
• Review current procedures and Distribution Standards to provide feedback.
• Research and develop instruction manuals for project directives and equipment usage.
• Document existing safety procedures and review accident or claim reports.
• Assist the Superintendent of Training and Safety with special projects and assignments.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Safety Science, or Occupational Safety.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization.
• Organizational management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously under deadlines.
