About the role#
The Electrical Engineering Intern will support the Technical Support team within the Marketing Department. This position provides exposure to customer energy projects, including research on combined heat and power (CHP) and distributed generation. You will work alongside engineering staff to understand how new equipment integrates with existing electrical infrastructure.
What you'll do#
- Assist with energy savings calculations, utility data review, and project tracking for customer opportunities.
- Conduct research related to CHP, distributed generation, and other energy technologies.
- Organize and review customer electric and gas usage data to support opportunity screening.
- Support site visits by documenting existing electrical infrastructure, such as switchgear and distribution equipment.
- Develop familiarity with switchgear, electrical distribution systems, and basic interconnection concepts.
- Perform related research, analytical, and administrative duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student in an accredited university or college.
- Pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a sophomore classification or above.
- Good academic standing.
- Strong analytical and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Interest in learning about energy, project management, and business development.
- Ability to commit to 15 to 20 hours per week for year-round internships.
- Previous internship experience and coursework in power systems, circuits, or energy systems are preferred.
