About the role#
The Supply Chain intern supports the Procurement, Materials Management, and Fleet departments at Philadelphia Gas Works. These teams manage nearly 1,000 contracts, oversee 10,000 inventory items, and maintain a fleet of over 900 vehicles. You will assist with daily operations across these areas and contribute to ongoing projects.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research and develop, build, and maintain datasets.
- Perform data analysis and prepare metrics reports.
- Assist with administrative operations.
- Write reports and deliver presentations.
- Work on special projects and continuous improvement initiatives to increase process efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment at an accredited college or university with at least sophomore standing.
- Good academic standing.
- A degree focus in Supply Chain, Business Logistics, Business Administration, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to work 15 to 29 hours per week.
- Proficiency in MS Office, with strong skills in MS Excel.
- Strong analytical, technical writing, and interpersonal skills.
- A self-directed approach and willingness to take initiative and accept feedback.
- Previous work experience is preferred.

- This role is located at the PGW North Operations Center at 5000 Summerdale Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19124.
- This is an on-site, paid internship.
