About the role#
This summer internship offers hands-on experience in a manufacturing facility. You will work alongside engineers, operations leaders, and production teams to handle real manufacturing challenges. The program provides exposure to projects similar to those of an entry-level engineer, focusing on process improvement and operational efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Modify and improve manufacturing processes to increase reliability, reduce costs, and eliminate waste.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using engineering methodologies.
- Develop or enhance manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling.
- Specify, design, and procure equipment for manufacturing and new product initiatives.
- Analyze manufacturing data and recommend solutions to improve operational performance.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including maintenance, quality, and operations.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong academic standing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience with CAD software such as Solid Edge or AutoCAD.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Location & details#
- Location: Gettysburg, Pennsylvania (on-site).
- Term: Summer 2027 (End of May through early August).
- Compensation: $27.90 per hour.
- This is a full-time, paid internship. No sponsorship is provided.
