About the role#
Pape-Dawson is hiring Civil Engineer Interns for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position based in our Georgia offices. You will work under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer to support land development projects, gaining hands-on experience with technical documentation, design tools, and project coordination.
What you'll do#
- Assist project managers and engineers with the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Develop and evaluate design alternatives by analyzing engineering parameters and project constraints.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce drawings, exhibits, and supporting documents.
- Participate in site visits, field activities, construction observation, and data collection.
- Assist in the design and preparation of site development plans for residential and commercial projects, including grading, drainage, and utility layouts.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program for Civil or Agricultural Engineering at an ABET-accredited institution.
- Familiarity with standard engineering principles and procedures.
- Basic proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
