About the role#
Pape-Dawson is seeking a Civil Engineer Intern for our Louisville office during the summer of 2027. This position focuses on land development and provides hands-on experience under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer. You will work on a variety of residential and commercial infrastructure projects while learning about design tools and technical documentation.
What you'll do#
- Assist project managers and engineers in preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce drawings, exhibits, and supporting documents.
- Participate in site visits, field activities, construction observation, and data collection.
- Design and prepare plans for residential, commercial, and site development, including grading, drainage, and utility layouts.
- Support permitting and coordination activities for land development projects.
- Assist with redlines, submittals, and record drawings.
- Prepare technical reports and engineering studies.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
- Familiarity with engineering principles, practices, and procedures.
- Basic proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
