About the role#
Pape-Dawson is hiring Civil Engineer Interns for the Summer 2027 term. You will work within our Land Development teams in Florida. This role offers hands-on experience with design tools, technical documentation, and project coordination. You will work under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer on a variety of infrastructure and land development projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist project managers and engineers in preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Develop and evaluate design alternatives by analyzing basic engineering parameters, objectives, and constraints.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce drawings, exhibits, and supporting documents.
- Participate in site visits, field activities, construction observation, and data collection.
- Assist in the design of residential, commercial, and site development projects, including grading, drainage, and utility layouts.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program for Civil or Agricultural Engineering at an ABET-accredited university.
- Familiarity with standard engineering principles and practices.
- Basic proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
