Project Management Intern

About the role#

The Project Management Intern will support the Compliance Excellence department at Pacific Gas and Electric Company. This role provides hands-on exposure to how regulatory compliance programs are managed within a large utility environment. You will work under the guidance of leadership to coordinate initiatives, organize documentation, and assist with reporting that supports decision-making.

What you'll do#

• Assist with planning, tracking, and maintaining department-wide training, certification, and conference milestones.
• Support the organization and maintenance of compliance documentation and SharePoint file structures.
• Coordinate cross-team communications by gathering input and status updates from internal stakeholders.
• Prepare summaries, trackers, and reports to support leadership updates.
• Learn and apply project management principles, including scope definition, timeline tracking, and risk identification.
• Support ad hoc coordination and administrative tasks related to compliance initiatives.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Business, Public Policy, Public Administration, Communications, or a related field at an accredited university.
• Experience with document management, trackers, or coordination tools.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
