About the role#
The Procurement Excellence Center (PEC) at Pacific Gas and Electric Company focuses on driving procurement transformation, operational efficiency, and value creation. This internship offers the opportunity to apply business acumen and data analytics skills to support strategic initiatives, performance measurement, and process improvement efforts within a large-scale utility procurement organization.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research and analyze data to develop insights that inform decision-making and performance measurement.
- Support Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Operating Reviews by tracking metrics, validating inputs, and preparing summaries and visuals for leadership.
- Assist with Lean and continuous improvement efforts by gathering baseline data and visualizing results.
- Maintain SharePoint sites, document libraries, and repositories to improve accessibility and version control.
- Prepare materials for leadership meetings, training sessions, and team communications.
- Develop white papers, reference materials, and policy documentation to support procurement initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, Data Analysis, or a related field.
- Must be continuing education towards your degree during or after the internship.
- A cumulative and major GPA of 3.0 or greater.
- Knowledge of LEAN systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
