About the role#
The Operational Risk Validation (ORV) team assesses and validates risk mitigations and controls to ensure PG&E’s high-risk programs are executed effectively. As an intern, you will support strategic planning, process analytics, and team governance. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to synthesize information and improve documentation. You will also participate in site and field visits to observe how risk mitigation is delivered in practice.
What you'll do#
- Create and iterate on onboarding materials, including team overviews, key contacts, and FAQs.
- Document and improve team governance processes such as intake steps, work planning, and reporting cadences.
- Develop standard work templates including briefing decks, checklists, and intake forms.
- Synthesize observations from field visits into actionable insights for risk advisories and team materials.
- Identify opportunities to simplify and standardize team workflows.
- Assist in drafting and organizing materials for leadership presentations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field at an accredited university.
- Commitment to continuing education during or after the internship.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Familiarity with project or program management concepts through coursework, student projects, or previous experience.
