About the role#
The Engineering Assistant Intern serves as a key contributor to the Substation Engineering & Design team, focusing on the management of engineering records and processes. This role involves reviewing engineering drawings for metadata accuracy and partnering with leadership to support project execution. This is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the team on various projects, issues, and program initiatives.
- Create technical reports and develop business cases.
- Prepare professional documentation, including letters, presentations, meeting summaries, and records using established formats.
- Develop data metrics, identify data attributes, and document data sources and methodologies.
- Perform data analysis, produce models, and present actionable insights.
- Support regulatory compliance activities and maintain tracking systems.
- Compile drawing inventories and update the SAP asset registry.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program at an accredited university in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, or Statistics.
- Status as a student continuing education during or after the internship term.
- Strong preference for candidates with prior data or analytics experience.
- Note: This position does not offer visa sponsorship.

- This position operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring two days per week in the office.
- Office locations: West Sacramento, California or Oakland, California.
