About the role#
As a Business Systems Specialist Intern, you will work with the Technology and Tools team to support Transmission and Substation engineering groups. You will act as a liaison between the engineering line of business and Information Technology, helping to implement intelligent tools that automate work processes and improve user experience. This role focuses on providing the engineering team with data-driven insights to support the design and maintenance of the electrical grid.
What you'll do#
- Define user system requirements and provide ongoing support for engineering tools.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing for new software and gather feedback for improvements.
- Perform feasibility analysis and help develop project scope and strategy.
- Analyze equipment data from PG&E substations to support key engineering initiatives.
- Develop SQL queries to extract data for use in dashboards and business intelligence reports.
- Assist in enhancing 3D visualization by developing data streams that incorporate relevant equipment information.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil Engineering at an accredited university.
- Commitment to continue your education during or after the internship term.
- A cumulative and major GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

- Compensation: $23.08 to $36.42 per hour.
