About the role#
This internship offers a look into the daily operations of a food manufacturing line. You will work on projects based on current business needs, such as process improvements to reduce waste or increase yield. At the end of the summer, you will prepare a presentation on your project results for the Corporate management team.
What you'll do#
- Collect, review, and transfer test results from external sources into internal documentation.
- Perform data collection and trend quality metrics.
- Draft, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of corrective and preventive actions.
- Log incoming raw materials into a database on a daily basis.
- Perform sample preparation testing.
- Learn and apply auditing principles and techniques.
- Analyze audit data to identify trends and provide recommendations to management.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and work groups.
What you'll need#
- An interest in the food manufacturing environment.
- The ability to analyze audit data.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that includes temperature variations.
- Physical ability to sit, stand, bend, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds.
