About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Pierce Manufacturing, you will assist our engineering teams with various tasks related to vehicle design and production. You will work on-site to support the development of our specialized trucks and apparatuses.
What you'll do#
- Prepare vehicle component layouts using CAD software.
- Generate engineering calculations for weight distribution, stress analysis, and performance estimations.
- Create and manage Engineering Change Notices within our PLM system.
- Update bills of materials in the PDM system to reflect product changes.
- Assist with the testing of complete vehicles and individual components.
- Consult with internal departments, suppliers, and customers to resolve technical issues.
- Provide technical assistance on the assembly floor during prototype and production builds.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- A strong interest in mechanical design.
- Experience with CAD systems such as CATIA or Pro-E is a plus.
- Previous internship or work-related experience is preferred.
