About the role#
The Student Brazer is a developmental position at Oshkosh Corporation. You will learn the skills and processes required to build and prepare specialized Pre-Conditioned Air (PCA) systems that power aircraft equipment on the ground. This role provides hands-on training in assembly, HVAC systems, and brazing. You will work alongside experienced team members to build the technical knowledge needed to perform the Brazer role independently.
What you'll do#
- Learn to assemble piping, mechanical parts, and electrical components for PCA systems.
- Perform brazing and plumbing techniques used to connect HVAC systems and copper assemblies.
- Complete required training, certifications, assessments, and courses.
- Maintain required documentation and learn to complete work order entries in systems.
- Support team activities and continuous improvement efforts as your knowledge develops.
- Set up, test, and troubleshoot PCA units.
- Inspect work quality and make corrections based on schematics and specifications.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant manufacturing, mechanical, or technical experience.
- Ability and willingness to learn brazing, HVAC assembly, and related manufacturing processes.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Willingness to successfully complete required brazing certifications.
- Ability to safely use or learn to use basic hand tools, power tools, and measurement equipment.

- Location: Murfreesboro, Tennessee, United States.
- Modality: On-site.
- This is a full-time, paid, rolling term position.
- The role is based in a manufacturing environment that may involve exposure to noise, dust, moving machinery, or temperature fluctuations. You may be required to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, or perform repetitive motions.
