About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will support our engineering teams at McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing. You will work on various tasks related to mechanical design, production, and testing. This is a full-time, paid position for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Prepare vehicle component layouts using CAD software.
- Select parts based on weight, cost, reliability, and manufacturing needs.
- Generate engineering calculations for stress analysis, weight distribution, and performance estimations.
- Perform or assist in the testing of complete vehicles and individual components.
- Create and manage Engineering Change Notices using the PLM system.
- Consult with internal departments, suppliers, and customers to solve technical problems.
- Assist with prototype, pilot, and production builds on the assembly floor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Ability to work for the entire duration of the internship.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Previous internship or work-related experience.
