About the role#
As a Quantitative Intern at Optiver, you will work with traders, researchers, and engineers to solve problems in global financial markets. You will learn how research, data, and technology help identify opportunities and drive decision-making. Through project work, mentorship, and training, you will build a foundation for your career. Based on your skills and interests, you may be considered for either a Quant Trading or Quant Research track.
What you'll do#
- Develop a deeper understanding of financial markets, quantitative trading, and the technology that powers them.
- Analyze complex datasets, investigate market behavior, and uncover insights to inform decision-making.
- Apply your quantitative and programming skills to solve real trading challenges and build tools.
- Strengthen your decision-making through live market simulations and hands-on experience.
- Explore how AI tools can accelerate research, experimentation, and quantitative decision-making.
- Learn from experienced traders and researchers in a collaborative environment.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a STEM field.
- Expected graduation between December 2027 and June 2029, with sophomore standing or higher.
- Available to intern during Summer 2027.
- Open to full-time opportunities upon graduation.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and logical reasoning skills.
- A solid foundation in mathematics, probability, and statistics.
- Experience with programming or scripting in Python or another language.
- A strong interest in financial markets, quantitative research, and decision-making.
- Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
