    About the role#

    The Risk Analytics team at Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan monitors the fund's market and credit risk exposure. As an intern, you will join a team of eight professionals in our Toronto office. You will report to a Senior Associate or Manager and collaborate with groups including Investment Risk, Data Management, and IT. This position runs for eight months from January 2027 through August 2027.

    What you'll do#

    • Contribute to daily risk reporting and maintain the integrity of data within the enterprise risk system.
    • Analyze how risk factors impact product and portfolio changes.
    • Validate trade completeness and perform quality checks on market data.
    • Participate in what-if simulation processes.
    • Propose and implement improvements to risk calculation operational processes.
    • Gain exposure to investment product valuation and risk methodology.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in the 3rd or 4th year of an undergraduate program in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, or Business Administration.
    • Strong quantitative background.
    • Advanced skills in Excel and VBA.
    • Experience with SQL.
    • Previous work experience in the financial industry.
    • Python experience is an asset, as is familiarity with Bloomberg.
    • Must be enrolled in a co-op program or returning to studies after the work term.

    • Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Term: Winter 2027 (January to August).
    • Compensation: Paid position, with an expected hourly range of $24 to $28.
