About the role#
Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan is hiring two interns for the Infrastructure & Natural Resources group. This is a 4 month contract starting in January 2027. You will report to a Principal and work with a team of 80 investment professionals. The role focuses on global infrastructure and natural resources companies. You will gain experience in direct, privately-held investments.
What you'll do#
- Analyze potential new investment opportunities to hone your financial modelling skills.
- Identify key value drivers and risks for investments through sensitivity and scenario analyses.
- Support due diligence exercises.
- Prepare valuations, presentations, and reports for senior investment professionals.
- Develop and analyze business cases for portfolio company initiatives like debt refinancings, expansion projects, and budgeting.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an undergraduate or master’s degree program with a concentration in finance, accounting, or investments.
- Must be in your 3rd or 4th year of study or a related master’s program.
- Previous internship experience in investment banking, M&A, private equity, equity research, or consulting.
- Specific experience in infrastructure or natural resources is required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Must be enrolled in a co-op program or returning to studies after the work term.

- The role is on-site.
- This is a full-time, paid internship with an hourly range of $30 to $34.
