About the role#
onsemi is hiring a Validation Engineering Intern for the Winter 2027 term. This position offers hands-on experience with real-world projects in semiconductor manufacturing. You will work alongside diverse teams to contribute to product development and innovation.
What you'll do#
- Support validation planning, silicon bring-up, debug, and characterization of new and derivative image sensor products.
- Validate new circuit IP and sensor functions, including memories, regulators, and serial communication interfaces.
- Develop and improve validation test methodologies, automation, and data analysis flows.
- Enhance the performance and usability of existing validation tools through improved scripts and documentation.
- Support failure analysis, root-cause investigation, and cross-functional debug activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or doctoral program in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Coursework on analog and digital circuit design.
- Solid understanding of semiconductor device physics.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, VB, Perl, C, or bash.
- Experience with electrical lab equipment like oscilloscopes, power supplies, and signal generators.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
- Familiarity with CMOS circuit design, test methodology, imager sensor architecture, and product reliability is preferred.
