About the role#
onsemi is seeking a Test Engineer Intern to join the Intelligent Sensor Group in Nampa, Idaho. This role supports automotive, commercial, and industrial CMOS image sensors as they move through the product development cycle. You will work on a strategic project designed to improve departmental efficiency while gaining hands-on experience with semiconductor manufacturing processes.
What you'll do#
- Work with Test, Validation, and Product Engineering teams to implement production test requirements.
- Develop test code and methodologies to improve coverage and margin for pre-qualified devices.
- Create test routines for novel device features and product capabilities.
- Gain experience with automated test equipment used for wafer probe and package testing.
- Collaborate with domestic and international team members to troubleshoot and solve product test issues.
- Perform product debug and analyze test data to guide engineering decisions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited BS or MS degree program in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Programming experience in high-level languages such as C, C++, Python, or Visual Basic.
- Coursework in electric circuits, preferably including micro-electronics lab experience.
- Ability to learn and operate electrical test equipment.
- Skills to interpret data distributions and make technical engineering judgments.
- Strong spoken and written English skills for effective collaboration.
- A self-motivated approach and the ability to work independently.
