About the role#
As a Cybersecurity Analyst Intern, you will help protect Oncor technology platforms. This includes securing workstations, servers, networks, applications, and databases from unauthorized access or destruction. You will assist in implementing security policies and managing risk for our systems and personnel.
What you'll do#
- Monitor and investigate networks and systems in real-time to prevent security violations.
- Report on metrics, threats, and trends to senior leadership, including the Chief Digital Officer, CIO, and Chief Information Security Officer.
- Collaborate with the Digital Grid Management team and internal partners.
- Coordinate with Lead Analysts and management during high-priority incidents.
- Keep leadership informed about technical and regulatory changes.
- Perform assigned tasks and essential job functions as required.
What you'll need#
- A High School diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in an Associate or Bachelor degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in an open, collaborative environment.
- Familiarity with network concepts, protocols, services, and operating systems is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based in Dallas, Texas.
- The role requires working on-site five days a week.
- The position may involve on-call support, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
