About the role#
Oncor Electric Delivery offers summer internships for students pursuing a degree in engineering. This program provides experience in transmission, distribution, measurement, or operations. You will work with professional teams to support the reliability and efficiency of the electric grid.
What you'll do#
- Assist with engineering tasks including design, evaluation, planning, and problem solving for distribution, substation, and transmission projects.
- Support team efforts to maintain the functionality of equipment and processes.
- Help optimize electric grid operations at a distribution or transmission center.
- Coordinate with engineering staff, field operations, and maintenance groups to develop effective solutions.
- Follow all safety policies to maintain a secure work environment.
- Participate in special projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or a related engineering field.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Understanding of electrical power transmission and distribution systems, grid operations, and industry standards.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
