About the role#
As an engineering intern on the Rail Water Resources team, you will perform hands-on work on client projects. You will assist with hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for stormwater and flood control management, as well as floodplain, scour, and erosion control. This role provides an opportunity to apply your classroom knowledge to real-world engineering challenges.
What you'll do#
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for stormwater and flood control.
- Use AutoCAD, MicroStation, or GIS/ArcMap to create project designs.
- Assist with technical analysis and the preparation of construction documents.
- Conduct research and write technical reports.
- Travel to job sites to perform field observations as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a civil or environmental engineering degree program.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to work well within a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
- The position is based on-site in Lincoln, Nebraska, or Omaha, Nebraska.
- This role follows a rolling term.
