About the role#
NXP is seeking a DFT Intern to join the Digital Design team in Austin. You will work alongside experienced engineers to implement and refine DFT methodologies for SoC designs. This role provides hands-on experience with scan insertion, ATPG, and memory BIST in a professional semiconductor environment.
What you'll do#
- Implement DFT techniques including scan insertion, boundary scan, and memory BIST.
- Generate and validate ATPG patterns using industry-standard tools.
- Analyze test coverage and debug patterns.
- Work with RTL designers and verification teams to meet testability requirements.
- Automate DFT flows with scripting languages.
- Document test plans, methodologies, and results.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Understanding of digital logic design and VLSI fundamentals.
- Familiarity with Verilog or VHDL.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or TCL.
- Exposure to DFT concepts like scan chains, ATPG, and BIST.
- Experience with EDA tools from Synopsys, Cadence, or Mentor Graphics.
- Knowledge of Linux or Unix environments.
- Background in STA, synthesis, or RTL verification.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

- Modality: On-site and hybrid options available.
- Employment: Full-time paid internship.
- Note: Candidates must be returning to school or graduating at the conclusion of the internship term.
