About the role#
NXP is looking for a FAB Device Engineer Intern to join the Technology and Operations team for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Austin, Texas. You will contribute to projects focused on integration development and optimization to support high-quality semiconductor manufacturing.
What you'll do#
- Improve functional yield through wafer probe analysis.
- Maintain and improve parametric process control.
- Develop integration changes to reduce costs or improve device functionality.
- Solve technical problems by using electrical testing, physical analyses, and statistical data analysis.
- Work both independently and within a team-based project environment.
What you'll need#
- You are currently working toward a degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
- You must be returning to school or graduating at the conclusion of the internship term.
- Classroom or lab familiarity with device parametric extraction, discrete device operation (MOS, BJT), and microfabrication concepts.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis, control concepts, and materials metrology techniques.
- Previous research or industrial experience applying Solid State Physics or Electronic Materials principles is preferred.
- Experience with JMP, PROMIS, SQL, LabView, or bench probe characterization is a plus.
