About the role#
nVent is seeking an Electrical/Controls Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This full-time, on-site position is based in Anoka, Minnesota. Interns receive training and development through on-the-job experiences, mentorship, and networking opportunities with professionals across the organization.
What you'll do#
- Apply technical training to specific engineering projects.
- Perform calculations and analysis to support component selection.
- Define product characteristics to meet project specifications.
- Establish and coordinate development schedules.
- Assist the materials department with supplier selection.
- Support field activities for sales and service teams.
- Adhere to company performance and conduct policies.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a Junior pursuing a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Authorization to work in the United States without restrictions.
- Basic knowledge of electronics, electrical engineering, analog power management, and Digital Signal Processors.
- Familiarity with processor-controlled data acquisition, device control, and PCB layout systems like PADS.
- Basic understanding of thermodynamics and heat transfer.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical procedures, and government regulations.
- Strong logic and reasoning skills to identify technical strengths and weaknesses.
- Proficiency in writing reports and business correspondence.
