    About the role#

    Northrop Grumman is seeking Systems Engineer interns to join the Western Region Systems Engineering directorate in Redondo Beach, California. This role focuses on the technical planning and integration of complex systems. You will work across the full product lifecycle, from initial design and fabrication to testing and final disposal.

    What you'll do#

    • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification, and validation.
    • Ensure the systematic conversion of customer requirements into total systems solutions while managing technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
    • Conduct analyses regarding cost, risk, supportability, and system effectiveness.
    • Perform functional and timeline analysis, as well as trade studies.
    • Translate customer requirements into specific hardware and software specifications.

    What you'll need#

    • Current full-time enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate STEM degree program, including planned enrollment for Fall 2027.
    • Majors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
    • U.S. citizenship is required.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

    • Location: Redondo Beach, California.
    • Term: Summer 2027.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks.
    • Compensation: This is a paid internship.
