About the role#
Royal Electric Company is seeking an Estimating Intern for the Summer 2027 term in our Sacramento office. This position offers hands-on experience working with our Estimating team on real-world construction projects. You will learn the estimating life cycle directly from experienced electrical estimators.
What you'll do#
- Read project plans and perform quantity takeoffs.
- Reach out to sub-contractors and vendors.
- Review technical specifications to identify project requirements.
- Build bills of materials for vendor quotes.
- Coordinate with the lead estimator to track bid progression.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with members of the Estimating department.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and follow all safety standards.

- This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship based in Sacramento, California.
