About the role#
Northrop Grumman is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join the Vehicle and Mechanical Engineering team in Chandler, Arizona. This part-time role takes place during the Fall 2026 semester. You will work on-site for up to 20 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Support the design and development of space systems.
- Contribute to solving engineering challenges for space customers.
- Participate in company training and professional development programs.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full-time student in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
- You must be enrolled full-time in Spring 2027.
- A major in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or another STEM field.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance and program special access.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.

- Compensation: This is a paid internship. Pay ranges from $17.75 to $32.75 per hour for bachelor students and $25.50 to $40.50 per hour for master students.
