About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Axon, you will work on new product development for public safety solutions. You will be paired with a veteran mentor for regular guidance and have the opportunity to present your ideas and accomplishments to executive leadership. This role is designed to help you build your skills through hands-on work and collaboration.
What you'll do#
- Own and drive the development of product features from beginning to end.
- Participate in engineering design reviews and brainstorm new concepts.
- Work with open source technologies.
- Ensure your work meets high standards for quality and performance.
- Engage in team meetings and company initiatives, including potential agency visits or ride alongs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student in Mechanical Engineering, entering your senior year.
- Experience with 3D CAD software, with at least one completed CAD course.
- Familiarity with machine shop equipment, 3D printing, and hand tool prototyping.
- Coursework in measurement and testing.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Location & details#
- This internship is based in Scottsdale, Arizona.
- The role follows a hybrid schedule, with in-person work required Tuesday through Friday and remote flexibility on Mondays.
- The internship is a full-time, paid position for Summer 2027.
- We aim for a 12-week duration, running from May to August for semester students or June to August for quarter students.
