About the role#
This is a full-time Quality Assurance internship based in Oxnard, California. You will work within our manufacturing quality department to support daily operations, maintain safety standards, and ensure product compliance. This role involves working closely with management, maintenance teams, and hourly staff to identify quality issues and recommend improvements.
What you'll do#
- Ensure all operations follow company GMPs and departmental policies.
- Inspect incoming packaging and ingredients to verify they meet JMS specifications.
- Monitor the HACCP plan and maintain accurate quality control records.
- Perform laboratory tests and manage the organization of laboratory equipment and supplies.
- Investigate quality incidents and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct daily sanitation inspections and assist in training hourly personnel.
- Coordinate with floor staff and forklift drivers regarding shipping and receiving activities.
- Assist with preparations for third-party audits and maintain updated specification manuals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or possession of a 4-year degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering.
- Availability to work from late March through the end of August.
- Ability to work six days per week, including night shifts, weekends, and overtime.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Ability to speak Spanish is highly desired.
