About the role#
As an Embedded Engineering Intern, you will work on software solutions within the public safety industry. You will receive mentorship through regular 1:1 meetings with an experienced engineer and guidance from your manager. This role offers the chance to present your work and ideas to executive leadership. You may also have the opportunity to participate in on-site agency visits and ride-alongs.
What you'll do#
- Own and drive end-to-end features in collaboration with Product and Design teams.
- Work with modern open source technologies.
- Participate in code reviews and architecture design meetings.
- Ensure your code meets high standards for performance and quality.
- Participate in daily team activities, including standups and sprint planning.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with at least one object-oriented language, such as Java, Python, Scala, Go, or C#.
- A previous software development internship.
- Proficiency working in Linux, Unix, or Mac environments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Location & details#
- This internship is based in Boston, Massachusetts, or Seattle, Washington.
- The position follows a hybrid work schedule, with onsite work required Tuesday through Friday and remote flexibility on Mondays.
- This is a paid, full-time position for Summer 2027.
- Semester interns are expected to work from May 24, 2027, to August 16, 2027.
- Quarter interns are expected to work from June 7, 2027, to August 27, 2027.
