About the role#
NJM Insurance Group is hiring for our Summer 2027 Actuarial Intern program. You will join one of our core teams, such as Personal Auto Pricing, Property Pricing, Commercial Lines Pricing, or Reserving. This role provides hands-on experience in the insurance industry while you work alongside professional actuaries on meaningful business projects.
What you'll do#
- Learn and apply basic Actuarial techniques to solve real business problems.
- Use Excel, SQL, SAS, and PowerBi to complete various projects.
- Lead a pricing or reserving project from start to finish.
- Develop recommendations based on your analysis.
- Present your findings to management and other departments.
- Conduct research and provide support for ongoing projects.
What you'll need#
- Current Sophomore or Junior status pursuing a degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Quantitative Finance, or a related quantitative field.
- A minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
- Advanced skills in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently.
- A self-directed approach to learning.
- A willingness to learn about Property and Casualty Insurance.
Location & details#
- This position is located on-site in West Trenton, New Jersey. You must be able to commute to this office.
- This is a paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The pay range for this role is $21 to $25 per hour.
