About the role#
Nexus Engineering Group is hiring a Chemical Process and Instrumentation/Controls Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. You will work alongside experienced engineers to prepare drawings, calculations, and project deliverables. This role involves collaborating with other engineering disciplines to provide complete packages for our clients.
What you'll do#
- Complete calculations of limited complexity, including hydraulics, relief devices, equipment sizing, control valve sizing, and flow meter sizing.
- Develop and maintain P&IDs, PFDs, and block and loop drawings.
- Assist experienced Process and Instrumentation/Controls Engineers with their daily activities.
- Gain exposure to equipment and instrument specifications, vendor quotes, and industry codes.
- Learn about process safety and engineering workflows in a consulting environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program for Chemical Engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and Word.
- Ability to work effectively within diverse teams.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience with process modeling software like Aspen, HYSYS, or ChemCAD is a plus.
