About the role#
The Instrumentation & Controls Engineer Intern or Co-Op works with our engineering team to prepare deliverables for client design projects. You will assist in creating drawings, specifications, and calculations while coordinating with other engineering disciplines to produce cohesive project packages. This role offers exposure to industry codes, standards, and the engineering workflow within a consulting firm.
What you'll do#
- Complete calculations of limited complexity, such as control valve and flow meter sizing.
- Develop and maintain block and loop drawings.
- Provide support with instrument specifications.
- Assist experienced engineers with project activities.
- Prepare instrument specifications and request quotes from vendors.
- Learn about process safety in the design and operation of client facilities.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering.
- Ability to work within diverse teams.
- Effective communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and Word.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or other drafting software.
- A willingness to seek feedback to improve performance.
