About the role#
Nexus Engineering Group is looking for an Electrical Engineering intern or co-op for the Fall 2027 term. You will work alongside our engineering team to prepare drawings, calculations, and deliverables for client design projects. This role involves collaborating with other engineering disciplines to create cohesive packages for our clients.
What you'll do#
- Complete calculations of limited complexity, such as lighting distribution, conduit and cable tray fills, voltage drop, and feeder sizing.
- Develop and maintain Electrical Single Line Diagrams, Schematic and Interconnection Diagrams, and schedules for conduit, cable, lighting, grounding, and power.
- Support the development of Power System Study models for short circuit, load flow, protective device coordination, and arc flash calculations.
- Assist experienced electrical engineers with daily activities as requested.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and Word.
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting software.
- Familiarity with Power System Modeling software such as ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work within diverse teams.
- A willingness to seek feedback to improve performance.

- This is a paid, full-time internship.
