About the role#
Nexus Engineering Group is hiring an Electrical Engineering intern for Summer 2027. You will work alongside experienced engineers to prepare drawings, calculations, and deliverables for client design projects. This position involves collaborating with team members across various engineering disciplines to provide complete project packages.
What you'll do#
- Complete calculations of limited complexity, such as lighting distribution, voltage drop, feeder sizing, and conduit fills, under supervision.
- Develop and maintain electrical documentation including single line diagrams, interconnection schematics, and conduit or cable schedules.
- Create plans for grounding, power, controls, and raceway systems.
- Support the development of power system study models for load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and protective device coordination.
- Assist experienced engineers with daily tasks and project activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program for Electrical Engineering at an accredited university.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within diverse teams.
- A proactive approach to seeking feedback for performance improvement.
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting software is preferred.
- Familiarity with power system modeling software like ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower is a plus.
