About the role#
WPHL-TV is offering a hands-on internship within the morning news department for the Fall 2026 term. Interns work directly with producers, anchors, and reporters to gain experience in both studio and field environments. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Research and write stories for the morning broadcast.
- Contact sources to gather additional information.
- Edit video content using Adobe Premiere.
- Manage social media accounts, including Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, during the show.
- Coordinate guest segments and manage guests before, during, and after their appearances.
- Attend press conferences and coordinate interviews in the field.
- Learn camera operation, shot composition, and news gathering techniques.
- Shadow producers in the control room with opportunities to produce portions of the show.
- Receive guidance from anchors and reporters on crafting an on-air reel.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college or university as a junior or senior.
- Academic focus in Communications, Journalism, or Media Studies.
- Reliable transportation.
Location & details#
- Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
- Shift requirements: Interns must be available to work between the hours of 3:30 AM and 11:30 AM.
