About the role#
WPHL-TV is offering a hands-on internship within the morning news department for the Fall 2026 term. This position provides experience working alongside producers, anchors, and reporters in both the studio and the field. Interns have the opportunity to shadow producers in the control room, assist with show production, and receive guidance on crafting a professional reel.
What you'll do#
- Research and write stories for the morning broadcast.
- Contact sources to gather additional information.
- Edit video content using Adobe Premiere.
- Manage social media accounts, including Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, during the show.
- Coordinate guest segments and manage guests before, during, and after their appearances.
- Assist in the field by coordinating interviews and attending press conferences.
- Learn camera operation and techniques for gathering information for live shots.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at a college or university as a junior or senior.
- Reliable transportation.
Location & details#
- Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Interns must be available to work between the hours of 3:30 AM and 11:30 AM.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
