About the role#
Analytics Engineering interns are embedded within teams responsible for scaling the Netflix application platform. You will work on deriving actionable insights from data to maintain high-quality standards, measure product feature reliability, assess device ecosystem health, and improve engineering operational efficiency. This role involves close collaboration with software engineers and product managers to enable data collection, improve metric fidelity, and develop technical data products.
What you'll do#
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines to process and analyze large, complex data sets.
- Define foundational data models and work toward the productization of analytical tools.
- Analyze request patterns, identify new signals, perform anomaly detection, and recommend adjustments based on quantified impact.
- Create data visualizations and dashboards using tools like Tableau to help stakeholders understand and act upon data.
- Collaborate with engineers during the development process to gather feedback and iterate on design improvements.
- Communicate key insights to stakeholders across the organization.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a full-time accredited M.S. or Ph.D. program in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
- Graduation date of December 2026, Summer 2027, or later.
- Must be returning to school for at least one semester or quarter following the internship.
- Hands-on experience with data analysis and the standard data science tech stack.
- Experience leveraging distributed systems for large-scale data processing.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with Python or Java.
- Experience building intuitive schemas and data models.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
